On March 6th, the kick-off meeting of the ACROBAT-Newborns project took place, with the collaboration of all partners involved in this collaborative initiative.
The new EDCTP3 funded project aims to predict severity and improve clinical management of sick newborns irrespective of the cause.
The project officially started on January 1st 2025 and will finalise on December 31st 2029 after implementing a clinical study in four African countries (Ethiopia, Gabon, Mozambique and Uganda) and will focus on developing innovative solutions for neonatal care and providing critical support to healthcare professionals.
This multidisciplinary approach ensures that the project addresses the full spectrum of challenges faced in neonatal with the objective to create an environment where cutting-edge research and technology are put into practice to support healthcare professionals in their efforts to save newborn lives. The project is set to have a lasting impact on neonatal health outcomes and improve the quality of life for countless newborns worldwide.
