CISM is a consolidated research center, highly specialized and with a strong capacity for research on transmissible diseases prevalent in Mozambique, with particular focus on the main causes of morbidity and mortality in the country (malaria, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and bacterial diseases).

Role within the project

CISM is the scientific lead of the project and responsible for the clinical validation aspect of the project. Led by Dr. Inácio Mandomando the team will be taking part in study preparation and implementation.

Role within the project

HU will collaborate with LSHTM in the conduct of the study at Hiwot Fana Comprehensive Specialized University Hospital in Harar, Ethiopia.

CERMEL will lead the study site in Gabon, conduct participants enrolment, and lead the data management and statistics tasks.

BioEclosion SL has developed a magnetic IVD which improves the current state-of-art by easing the test performance with a quick, easy to read, one-time use and reliable cartridge embracing the ASSURED guidelines for point-of-need devices.

BioEclosion owns the core technology for the non-invasive IVD to detect both biomarkers at point-of-care.

The Institute of Tropical Medicine, Travel Medicine and Human Parasitology (ITM), specializes in infectious diseases like malaria, (neglected) tropical diseases and human parasitosis. The Institute of Tropical Medicine is a member of the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF) and specializes in clinical trials where strong translational collaborations with international (intercontinental) partners are paired with a wide range curriculum for medical students.

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is renowned for its research, postgraduate studies and continuing education in public and global health. LSHTM administers the study in Hiwot Fana Comprehensive Specialized University Hospital, Harar, Ethiopia, in collaboration with Haramaya University through the Hararghe Health Research Partnership (HHR) with leadership in the social sciences evaluation of the project.
